What does this street hold?
I missed being a neighbor. An active neighbor — here's-some-butter, a-box-of-nails, extra-soup kind of neighbor. I wanted to find out if I could reclaim it.
Porch Commons is an ongoing neighborhood gathering project based on my front porch in southeast Portland, directly across from the #71 bus stop near Mt. Tabor. Coffee in the mornings. Soup in the evenings. I Spy boards, vinyl listening sessions, neighborhood mapping, making layered maps. A residency structure where anyone on the block can borrow the porch for their own idea or we figure one out together.
